interesting to see so many pilots on here, i am an aviation major and work in supply chain for a airline, we got a fleet of 737 classics. i dont have my own plane......or a have a pilots license for that matter, but there seems to be a direct link every where i go from aviators of all sorts to motorcyclist.

I read somewhere that a high percentage of pilots also have motorcycles and climb mountains. Check. :2_thumbsup:

If you have any interest in flying just do it. Not very many young pilots. I'm always the youngest at the airport by at least 20 years. It really isn't THAT expensive if you can find the right fit. I co-own my Cherokee with another pilot so it is pretty cheap.

This is my karmann - she lives in the garage most of the time, but if I bring her out to Spain I'll get to enjoy her more, I hope

My father brought his first one back from a Germany in 1960ish when his tour was up.

He bought two more, a fastback, 3 transporters, a vanagon, 2 golfs and 2 jettas.

None of them went less than 100k miles, most recents have gone >> 200k.

One went 329k, the odometer broke and was sold to his brother. That one is still on the road.

You might say that first Ghia started a long relationship with VW and our family... :dirol:

My other ride since since a few days....

My wife hates LA traffic, so I guess we'll be getting a trailer and our DR's will be relegated to "desert duty" for weekend happy times...heck we're thinking more and more of buying a second home in the desert somewhere (Landers, Yucca Valley). I just wouldn't know how safe it is to buy a home somewhere deserted and store your bikes there, while you may only visit once a month or even less....
