Ok, I'm sold. Just ordered 8 cell EVO 2 from Revzilla. $144, no shipping charges. I'm not sure I will also remove the box for the 2 extra lbs, but will be tempting. I ride year round in southern climate, so the cold is not a huge concern. One other downside I see from my research, it appears manuf. may not honor what is otherwise a good warranty, if you allow the bat to discharge.

The little read bat showed up today (1 lb, 10oz), found a new home in my old box. Decided to keep the box for now. I like the packing pads it came with; used them to make the bat snug. Now what to do with that metal piece over the box? I didn't reinstall it; didn't see a need. Seat still fits well. Any reason to put that metal piece back in? It bolted on top of the frame, just under the seat and appeared to help hold the stock bat in place.

As long as your battery can't move when you go over rough ground, causing wear on the cables..

I have one of these in my honda sport quad. Best battery I have ever owned. Doesn't matter if it sits for a couple months. Fires up strong everytime. I just got my dr and the battery feels good for now, but when it goes south. I will replace it with the evo2 no question about it.

I've had this battery on my DR since August of 2011 and have had zero issues with it. I've never had it on any kind of charger and it still fires up easily. I use a piece of foam that came in the original packaging to keep the battery from moving around and I have extra spark plugs and a bolt bag taking up the extra space on top of the foam.

I finally got mine a couple of months ago.
Great little battery & it was very easy to install
Packed it up with expansion joint foam & a very heavy duty zip tie.
Payed $180 Del to OZ and it was worth every cent
I sometimes don't start my DR for a couple of wks ,
So it takes a little longer to start,
but with the new EVO It has plenty of power to crank it over .:woohoo:
