As far as the 223 cam: I always wondered why it has less lift than the stock cam. I see it has more duration across the board, but wouldn't a higher lift cam require more compression vs duration?

While I'm certainly no cam expert is seems logical duration would/could affect overlap so the added compression will make up for losses in that regard. That is my assumption of Web's "requires an HC piston" statement. It seems more lift at a given duration might not be as detrimental to compression as compared to overlap.
