To all our mates in Oz... Happy Aussie Day! For us Yanks that may not know, from Wiki: Quote: Australia Day (previously known as Anniversary Day, Foundation Day, and ANA Day) is the official national day of Australia. Celebrated annually on 26 January, the date commemorates the arrival of the First Fleet at Sydney Cove in 1788 and the proclamation at that time of British sovereignty over the eastern seaboard of New Holland.

Well, its republic day to India. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Republic_Day_(India) Code: In India, Republic Day commemorates the date on which the Constitution of India came into force replacing the Government of India Act 1935 as the governing document of India on 26 January 1950.[1] The 26th of January was chosen to honour the memory of the declaration of independence of 1930. It is one of the three national holidays in India. While the main parade takes place in the national capital New Delhi at the Rajpath before the president, the anniversary is also celebrated with varying degrees of formality in state capitals and other centres. Happy Australia day to all the mates out there..

I met some Aussies back in 87 when I was in the service and deployed to Japan, these boys loved their Victoria Bitters big time, but beer is a very personal thing so have a Coopers Pale Ale for me!

No suprise an Aussie Day thread turns into a discussion about beer. I'm no connoiseur, I usually drink Corona. But on a real hot day after a sweaty dusty ride, that big blue ice cold can o' Foster's goes down pretty good.
