After converting to supermoto with 320mm front rotor, I figured I should replace my pads also. I have sintered EBC pads now, should I spend the money for these again or will an off-brand sintered pad perform the same?

i have found you get what you pay for.
better pads mean better material better braking
the cheap pads tend to fade sooner
what ever you buy remember, foreign manufacturers still use asbestos so be careful

I noticed my front pads were a little thin and was wondering the same thing. I didn't have to wonder long though. $12.50 with free shipping? So they probably cost about $4 to manufacture. No thanks, my life is on the line. I will spend the $30 or so for EBC's and consider it money well spent. I am saving alot more than that in other areas, such as sticking with the OEM tank and handlebars. Some upgrades are better than others even though they are vastly cheaper, IMO.

All valid points.

I currently have EBC pads on my bike now which have plenty of life left, looks like they are 80%, but with the new front rotor I was thinking I should pop a new set on so they wear together. Or should I just keep running the pads that I have?

Just run them, they will wear in.

FYI, the dp pads are like OEM with less brake dust. You get what you pay for, TPI sells the good stuff last time I looked.

Nissin stock pads to ebc was the best cheapest thing I could have done! Well worth the money!

Did you buy new pads?

I too have a new 320mm SM rotor, I thought about using the old pads, (~70-80%) but decided against it, they were conformed to the shape of the old worn rotor so badly that if I tried to sand them flat and parallel, they would only have 40-50% wear left.

I bought Ferodo sintered, $55 AUD.

I am going to have to get new pads. I also went to a 320mm rotor and the old pads are scraping the rotor, I guess because of how they shaped themselves to the old rotor.

I just got some from ebc. Part no. Front FA185TT Rear FA152/2TT. Check your rear caliper as some use 1 retaining pin and some use 2. Also mine are the red-carbon graphite type. Are these the ones you're after? I have a 97 bike.
