Hi,
my name is jeremy and I'm from seattle. I'm big into motorcycles, anything with 2 wheels really. I've been into a few types of motorcycles but dualsports are the most enduring. had DR's, XR's, XT's etc. as well as various other japanese street bikes vintage and modern. my current runner(got to have 1 runner at least) a 1993 CBR900RR that is fightered. I ride mountain bikes too, mostly DH. I do custom architectural metal fabrication and various custom welding for a living. seattle area folks hit me up for custom parts, aluminum castings repair, and any custom fabrication you may want. prices below street value.
My current project is a 1998 DR650. It has been abused and hacked back together by the PO's in a pretty awful way. I'm still in the process of assessing the bike and deciding it's future. I'd like to go one bike status, and the DR is probably the one to do it. 2 sets of wheels etc. know what I mean. I've got some thinking and planning to do, might do a build thread might not.

wtf have I gotten myself into...

Welcome and check http://www.kientech.com/DR650TorqueLimiter.html for info on the '98 so you can take care of that if it hasn't been looked into yet.

With your background, the DR is a simple bike to fix, maintain and generates a smile per mile rate worth all of it.
