I realize this may seem like an idiotic question but is the Vapor Speedo a plug and play with no wires to be cut on the stock harness? Reason I ask is that my bike came with another brand (Acewell I think) and the previous owner had cut and spliced all the connections into the stock harness. Real butcher job. It was so bad that I just replaced the harness and put all stock speedo and idiot lights back on. I'm not interested in snipping anything I can't unsnip later.

Thx.

Cool! If you get the chance, post some pics of the install when you get it!

its real easy. i just used the mount that came with it. although if i come across a piece of stainless sheet metal, ill make a dash to mount it in and use the mounting holes for the old speedo. as far as the speedo magnet and sensor, i glued the magnet to the rotor with a dab of jb weld and used 2 zip ties to hold the sensor in place. one last thing, the ring connector for the temp needs to go between the crush washer on the plug and the plug. not the crush washer and the head. hope that makes sense :pardon: .

Good Stuff. Thanks! I'm most curious about the electrical connections to the wiring harness. Are there any or is it all internally powered etc? The acewell I had was wired in to the signals indicators, hi/lo beams etc.. also and the wiring was hacked. No Matching plugs.

Looks like the next thread down seems to cover most of it.

As promised Iwill let you know ......
Unit arrived from the seller and the packaging was excellent! :good: the unit uses the stock wiring connection to power the system and a 2032 coin battery for the Memory / backup .....the Mounting bracket is cheesy at best :reallyshocked: but I'll be making a Dash unit to mount it along w/ the Voltage meter and a couple switches . the Speedometer was installed on a 3bolt bracket and I'll probably use that to anchor the dash if possible.. Heading to work ... more on [ no! not moron ] this tomorrow :s_rofl

The electrical power is via its own battery or (recommended) via its own power lead directly to the battery terminals. The supplied wire is long enough to reach the battery terminals. You can wire the Vapor to the ignition or directly (hot) to the battery. Either way there is adequate wire length. There is no cutting or splicing of the stock wiring to install the Vapor unless you also have the "dash" option.

Really, why?? Does it say that in the instructions?

EDIT: Just checked the instructions, it says to remove the crush washer completely

Quick Question to the Knowledge Bank .....Does the Tach lead on the Vapor require it to remain full length ? :pardon:
I know some electronis are sensitive to the resistance of a set length of Wire and I do Not want to cut it if It is :nea: ...
Thanks, Jax
