Good advice about 3 bank accounts. I like it. However I can see where one person would get upset that " all I get to do is pay bills and only have enough left for an occasional very small item, while you get to buy stuff all the time with the money you have left over... So you should put some of your money in my account so that we can be 'even'"

Grrrr! Lol

Marriage (for it to work) has to be run like a business, give and take, checks and balances. I make more than my wife so I pay more of the bills than she does. That's the way it has to be. Inturn she does more of the house work.

We don't really keep track of who does what around the house.....but I do pitch into her fun account or pick up the unexpected bill, like an appliance failure that can't wait. If she made an equal amount, it'd be different, but right now I'm a little ahead every payday. My best memory of this arrangement is when I called her..."can you put the ramps in the truck and meet me at..." "why, what did you do?" "bought another bike" "Oh, okay..where are the ramps?" My DR purchase day. :good:

I've been hitched for close to 52 years now . I must be a glutton for punishment . --- Is it love , loyalty or lunacy ?--- The constant bickering (which started after approx. 30 years) has become a fact of life now . --- I'd worry about her well-being if she'd suddenly quit belly-aching . --- After a while it appears to be "NATURAL" . --- Lol --- Hell no , --- I'm not trying to scare you ! Best of luck !!! :drinks:

The only tracking of household chores we keep are ... she does the inside I do the outside. No one questions who buys the washing machine or fridge when it craps out, and she is the only one that owns a jewelry box,... hmmmmm maybe I need to rethink this a little

Yeah RUN LIKE HELL!!!

3 bank accounts.

Joint - Each pitches in equal portions for common living expenses.

Yours.....& Hers....anything left after the joint contribution belongs to the individual. Eliminates a lot of potential arguments,

....and HAVE FUN!!!!

Oh man that is such sound advice right there. Been doing it for a while now and we're 16 years in.....
