I've had it in the bike about a month, and only had a few chances to ride. I hope yours was a fluke!

They have a 2 year warranty btw. I hope Ballistic honors it.

Just an update on the RMA process from Ballistic Products. I sent an email listing the recent problems with my EVO2 last night and it was promptly returned this morning. They responded with a RMA # and an address of where to return, no shipping label though(guess I need to spring for the $15). They also attached a PDF file of the warranty form. I will be sending this off tonight and I will periodically keep you guys informed of the progress. One note, they did state that they would give me a call a few hours after receiving the battery and fully "testing it" to let me know what course of action they will be taking. Time will tell. It looks like they pro rate the batteries but based on their timeframe since mine is only 2 months old it is covered at 100%.

I would think they would just replace a defective battery rather than prorate it because it didn't lose power, it broke inside.
But sounds good so far, one reason I bought the EVO2 was because of the 2 year warranty. Also because it's made here in the U.S., in case I have to go there and open a can of whoopass...

If , indeed , the battery is defective they should reimburse you for the shipping-charges as well . --- You shouldn't be penalized when their product is at fault .

My sentiments exactly. It is in the mail so we will see how it goes. $9.33 is what it cost to ship. Man these things are light. :OMG:

This is the response that I received a few minutes ago from Ballistic products, the EVO2 manufacturer.

"I got your 8 cell today, and it indeed had a warranty issue with it. I have ordered you a new 8 cell. It will ship out today UPS ground."

Ya think? OK so far so good with the warranty service. I hope this one is a keeper because I like everything about the battery and the US company.

Update, the new EVO2 was on my porch when I got home tonight and is now happily mounted to the DR and nicely being charged at 14.2vdc thanks to the mos-fet regulator. :drinks: :clapping:

It seems that Ballistic over nighted the new battery to my surprise. I would say they stand behind their products as well as one could hope for. And yes, I did shake this one to see if it sounded like a kids rattle toy and no it didn't.

Great news! I feel a lot better now too. No problems with mine so far, but it's good to know Ballistic stands behind their product. :good:

So DD do you think it may be helpful to merge this info to a new thread related to the EVO2 or I could possibly post some info on the new product review thread? This info may be helpful to have laying around for future inquiries.

By all means post a write-up in the 'Product Review' section. I'll probably chime in once I get some more ride time on my EVO2. :good:
