That looks like a nice fat healthy blue spark to me... whoever took that pic is one hell of a photographer. :biggrin:

If you have arcing, then you need a coil. Remember this is a recommendation based on a diagnosis over the internet. :whistling:

I was going to mention the sidestand and clutch safety switch removals. Make doubly sure your connections are solid where you jumped those wires or plugs.

Got the new OEM coil assembly in. The DR650 coil assembly does not come with the spark plug boots or the boot caps, just bare wires. My problem was arcing from where the boot meets the wires. I could have probably done without the coil, and just reinstall and reseal the current boots but whatever, its only paper money. Problem is fixed.

Removing and resinstalling the boots is a breeze, if anyone else has unexplained hesitation like i did, this would be a good place to look. I used Sukuki sealant on things to really provide a good seal. Bike is running great now, all fixed. Also since this was fixed, bike is shifting like butter now and wheelies like a MF. :biggrin:
