The very first thing that should be done after buying a bike is an overall safety check. The second thing should be tuning the suspension. Having a properly tuned suspension makes a huge difference in comfort, safety and yes, speed.

Most of us are riding around with improper sag settings and guesswork dampening. Sad but true. Our DR650s don't have very advanced suspensions but there are a few things you can do to dial it in so at least it is the best it can be.
