I use tubes in my supermoto setup (Sun wheels, Pilot Road 2 tires)

Warp9 wheels are not tubeless wheels. You will need a tube for you rear tire/wheel setup, but it doesn't matter if the tire is rated tube or tubeless. You can use a tube in a tubeless tire, but you can't use a tube rated tire on a tubeless rim without issues.

That is the front tire off my DR650 I sold last month, so I could get a DRZ400 to race next year.

The Road3 tire has a radial tube in it. This tire is not good for Supermoto. I had a set of Road3's put on to ride on the street between seasons. I did one last race with the Road3's and it was painful not to throw the bike around like I could with the Contiforce SM's.

For some reason I am having a brain fart about this. Just bought a warp9 supermoto front wheel with tire mounted on ADV rider. Now I am trying to plan out my purchase of the warp 9 rear wheel and tire. The front tire has a Michelin Road Pilot 3 tire mounted, and from what I can see on the net, that is a tubeless tire? Do I need to order a tubeless tire to go with my rear Warp9 wheel?

I think I just order any tire and put a tube in regardless since its a spoked wheel?

i run tubes cuz i'm cheap. and after finding this a week ago, i'm glad to keep the tubes. not sure when i picked it up or how long i rode it like this, but it held air all day and made it home for a tube swap instead of a new tire.

a $20 tube is waaay cheaper than $120 tire.

edit:

oh and for all you smart a$$es out there, NO that's not a chicken strip that's where the flat tire was rubbing on my tool tube picking up plastic! :sarcastic:

What type and size tube should I get to go with my Warp 9 rear wheel? Wheel size is 17x4.25. I noticed michelin sells "supermotard" tubes but the rear only comes in size 140/80-17. I don't know anything about tube sizing. Tire size will be 150/70-17

EDIT: Looks like this is what I need?:

I am going to be running Michelin Road Pilot 3 radial tires.

How did the DR650 do against the other SUMO’s ? I would like to race mine but not if it’s futile.
Don’t get me wrong though I ride mostly on the street (about 98%) and the DR650 works well for the back roads here.
