It was an unseasonalby warm 85 over the weekend and "other than bike" projects demanded my time. Today was an overcast 70-75 so I mounted up the extra wheelset with the 705's on 'em. Thx to YnotJP (ADV) for the tires. He ran the centers down a little riding from Seattle to San Diego but plenty of life left.

705 vs New 606

I have a 45 mile loop from the house which has a 35 mile stretch with NO traffic control (stop signs, red lights, etc) I figured this would be a good place to test the 705's. I did a side loop on a dirt road and was happy with the traction. If I had any talent, the tire would be a very predictable corner slider.

This is always a nice thing to see on a tire demo.

I'll let the pics speak for themselves.

It still amazes me I live 15 miles from the 8th largest city in the USA and I get to ride this stuff right outta my driveway. :good:

Those of you with full SUMO set ups must come close to breakin' your lips from the smilin'. I've always enjoyed the DR but the difference between the tire sets was like truck to sports car. I'd still be on the loop with a sumo....

Awesome TH!! :clapping: As usual I'm totally jealous of your riding area. Looks like home to me.... but instead I'm hunkering down for another long bikeless winter. This new FI project is my only shiny spot that will keep my attention off winter... that is if I can get my garage heated. Working on it. :s_yes

I'm running the same tires, if only I had another set of wheels to mount my 606's I'd be set.

I daily drive on the 705's, they provide great traction and cornering stability, and for the occasional gravel road I have no complaints. It's an excellent tire.

I wish I had roads like that close to my house. :sorry:

Yeah....I did the eastern portion of Lyons Valley....turned up to the truck trail for the finish. The full length is a cornering school. For those unfamiliar, there are a few decreasing radius turns marked for 15 MPH...and they mean it. Great drop aways and one of most fun climb out tight corners (going west). It's the last turn on pic 9 - the switchback. It doesn't look it from the distance shot but if you get your throttle and lean wrong, you'll low side like a sack of potato's.

Hope this comes thru. Well. the route didn't come over. I continued on LVR thru Skyline Truck Trail but then jogged over to STT before the last portion of LVR. Good stuff.

Rob - there are airplanes that come in here all day long....and I have an extra DR & a Strom in the garage. :spiteful:

I have come across some 5mph turns before. Those get real interesting, real quick. :OMG:

Seriously, the only warning is a 5mph speed limit sign right in the middle of the curve. You try and go 10mph through it you won't make it!
