I know right? I just did a simple search for "DR650", and I got like, dozens of results! :s_tongue

Check your glasses.. you must have spots on them.

But seriously there are arguments on both sides of the sig line debate. I like the link idea to a "garage" but that takes away from quick analysis of the rider's machine when posting a reply. For me I look at it as a tool that can help me to know the machine set-up when I'm replying to a question. Not that I couldn't click a garage link to find (or not find) information that may be of help...

Admittedly not everyone posts useful data in the sig line... or any at all in a lot of cases. So what's a mother to do?

Allow signatures but post a guard/keeper of the content? I nominate maxi-curmudgeon for that position. :sarcastic: Do I look into a garage set-up? How likely is it that most members will actually make up a snap-shot type signature?.... or even be able to do so? Limit the signature line to one line? Eliminate it altogether?

Other suggestions? Whatever we do will be posted and open for additional comments by all members.

In theory, even one line with intricate details of mods should be enough to mess up the search results and eliminating it altogether defeats both the argument purposes.

I will try and look into any phpbb options/plugins that allow a signature to be a picture. (Just a pic)
Which you can upload/update in your profile rather than linking from external site and how much overhead thats puts on the server.

on the forum i run, as long as the sigs, whether they be text or a picture are kept small and unobtrusive on the page format, than it's all good.

things like the sigs that are on the MTF forum, well, one line reply, and than you have to scroll the screen down somewhat to get past all the pics and sh*t that make up the sig, like in the link below

http://forums.delphiforums.com/MCTourer ... g=45900.14

the people on the MTF forum may be orright (i also do IBA rides), but the forum layout quite frankly fucken drives me up the wall and i tend to only look at the place maybe once a year.

So, how is everyone doing with editing their signature files?

I see that some of you have chosen to use the opportunity to take shots at one, unnamed, curmudgeon.

It's okay. I'll take the shots for the cause. Image
