hey guys -thanks for the tutorial, i just adjusted my valves and found it really helpful (i'm a super newb)
Wondering if the gurus have any thoughts: At 8K miles the intake valves were right in the middle of spec and exhaust were a bit tight, and after adjusting exhaust to the middle of the spec (0.2mm they are a bit noisy now. I went for a ride and feel no power loss or other ill effects. Any thoughts? Are my exhaust to loose if I can hear them?

Nope, if you can hear them all is well. When you can't hear them they are getting tight and closer to the point where they can burn from not seating properly. If you want to pick a section of the adjustment range to run the valves in pick on the loose side for the exhaust and on the tight side for the intake.

Because the intake valves and seats are cooled by the incoming fuel/air charge. The exhaust, however, is under much more heat stress and wear from the hot gases.
