Well, took it out for a good run today. Went to visit the parents for Thanksgiving. 85km there on back roads and dirt. 71km coming back on the highway trying to beat the rain, all over 65mph with a couple romps up to 90.
Kept track of the fuel, got 52mpg (4.51L/100km or 22.16KM/L on the backs, and 38.8mpg (6.06L/100KM or 16.5KM/L coming back.
I'm one of those that really wants to see how far a tank will last, since I'm often a ways from a gas station.
So assuming 13L useable in the tank, back roads and dirt would give me 288km and highway would take me 214km.
Yes, that's assuming I could use every last drop, and no, I would never cut it that close. But it's good to know that the litre and a half I carry as spare will take me around another 33km assuming I'm in the back roads.

Had an awesome day!

I like your cabin set-up. I showed my wife and she said NO!

Thanks! It looks a bit redneck...well, it IS a bit redneck...hehe It was a temporary solution, but it works great so why change. It's usually just me there, and sometimes the wife, so it's not like we need a lot of room. Anything we do is outside, and just go in to sleep. It's only 30 minutes from home so it's not like we'd have to be cooped up in there for weeks at a time. And if friends come up, it's for partying so they always tent. The little furnace that comes with the slide-ins still works and keeps me warm down to about -15c. Any colder than that and I'll stay home.
I built the roof the right way; trusses, etc...sitting on beams on the frame. That way if I ever do decide to build a little cabin, I can raise the roof, build my floor and walls, and drop the roof back down on top. Great idea, until I got it all done and started thinking about how much all the trusses, sheeting, and shingles weights...and just how the hell I'd support it. Whatever. Light a fire, crack a beer, worry about that later.
