There are a few members in Florida and in the path of Hurricane Irma. I know some are down south in the Miami area and several in Central Florida and on up into the Panhandle. Just wondering what their plans are, I suspect the members down in South Florida are evacuating or already out of state, we are planning to shelter in place as usual, I for one can not evacuate since I am still at work and do not know when the a$$hats I work for will let us leave while they are supposedly safe and sound in Orlando.

Just wanted to wish our members in harms way safe travels, God Speed and if you are staying please stay safe, I for one plan on taking the DR for a putt after the storm to checkout the damage and as usual the cops will send me home...

We will be out in the workshop swilling brewskis and cooking meat in the pellet smoker. Too bad I am at work when I should be home prepping for the storm...

I see the news with traffic 100 miles long. Why not leave the junk behind, jump on the DR with the wife (and kids if need be) and head out of down on the dirt or sides of the hwy?

Knowing the roads the way we do we could take all the backroads and experience very few traffic jams. We own 3 4 wheel drive vehicles so escape would be easier than most but we are hunkering down, the fortress is fortified, we are stocked up with lots of food, beer, gas for the generator and ammo. Irma seems to be heading to the left coast and we are on the right but storm preps continue. Trying to get an outside WiFi cam working since we can't see outside the house...

We left Naples on Wednesday took the cargo trailer for a camper left all motorcycles behind, poor bikes.
On the bright side I might have some wet parts for sale

Our company's headquarters is in Tampa and we have 13 employee's in the state. I started an email thread to keep track of all of them and their locations. Several have left FL. Most are staying. Depending on where I lived and the structure of my home I'd probably stay. Some of our folks are on the water and have moved inland. I have several trucks in PA and MD on standby and the credit card is ready for generators, food, gas and alcohol as needed. The next 2 days are going to be dicey.

Good Luck and Godspeed to all Florida members leaving or battening down the hatches.

Patrick
