Hi there,

Have picked up a super tidy little 2016 DR and need to get the seat sorted asap. As it is, it does not encourage spontaneous rides, that's for sure.

Has anyone had Peter from Australian Cumfy Seats in Melbourne modify their DR seats? Keen to keep the work/$$ local if possible but don't want to waste time & money if it is not good.

Need it as low and as comfortable as possible. I am about 95 kgs and 5' 6".

Have done the factory lowering at both ends and while the height is much better, that darn seat really just HAS to go!

Thanks...Tony

Pity you're on the wrong side of Oz. I had mine re-done by a local upholsterer. I worked with him to get it just how I wanted. Cost me $100.00 Oz. I can ride for hours now.

There's a company in western Sydney doing good seat work. Just can't think of their name ATM.
A few mates have had seat work done there and are very happy with results.

Me: after 38,000kms I'm still on the stock DR650 seat.
A good handlebar set up allows me to stand in the pegs often, and relieve my aching glutei maximi.
On long open road bitumen sections it can get uncomfortable as speeds are too high to stand.

You wouldn't pick it from the Suzuki gel seat. That's what I started with and the cover has been reused. The internals are all new though. It's about the same thickness as the gel seat.

I had a seat done at ACM for my DR, and it was not comfortable for me. It was softer than stock, but not more comfortable really.

I have since had seats done by MJM in goulburn, and have been incredibly happy with them. Not for a DR (yet), but that's what i'd do.

Did a few k's on the week end and wanted something for my legs instead of my butt. I saw a sheep skin cover that I thought was worth a look at. And no I am not a Kiwi.
