Looks like fun. Hopefully me and my brothers can stop by for a little hockey.

Classic :CSpit:

The game tonight should be a good one. World Juniors are one of the sport highlights of the year in Canada. Do you hear much about it in the US?

I have a pizza peel hanging right inside the side door custom sized for the BGE. No store bought dough or sauce. Both are made fresh and sometimes when feeling spry even fix up a ball of homemade mozzarella.

It would be easier to tell you what I haven't cooked on the BGE.

Love pizza on it. Mrs Kanuck not so much. I did burn a few learning  I cook on it 2 or 3 days a week now for the last 3 years. Never on gas anymore. No more rancid grease mess or rusted out burners for me anymore. I will never buy another gas grill.

Wifey poo almost cried, crapped and croaked when she saw my "gift to me" price tag.

Her only words were, you better use it.

And I have. If she ain't doing it in the slow cooker, I'm doing it out side.

I do 99.9% of the cooking and we do not eat out very frequently. I was using around 2,000 lbs of lump charcoal per year. I have cut back some but still manage to use 400 to 600 lbs of lump per year. I've used the BGE for Grilling, deep frying, baking, stir/pan frying, soups/stews, roasting, smoking, drying meats, boiling noodles, steaming rice and cleaning/seasoning cast iron cookware.

I also have a BBQ Guru is a nice addition for low and slow cooks. Load and light the BGE, set pit/meat temps, damper back the daisy wheel and walk away. Cooking at 220*F a charge of about 8 lbs of charcoal will easily last 35 to 40 hrs at this temp.

Everything is better cooked over lump charcoal.

One of my favourite things is a chilli. The deep natural smoke flavour with all those spices is to dye for.

Ya I go through a lot of lump too. I have to make sure I stock up for the winter since availability really gets limited around here. Doesn't everyone grill year round? Costco has the best deal in the summer.

I am lucky one of the plumbing supply houses we deal with on the regular basis sells Nature Glo (rebranded Royal Oak) 40lb bags. End up at something like $0.50 per lb.
