I went and looked at ProCycle's description and the link to AVDMoto's review and also the Moose Racing site. None of the information said anything about a gel insert, but the heat retention you speak of is a frequent complaint of gel seats.

If that Moose seat has a Gel insert, then either Moose or ProCycle should have disclosed that fact. If they didn't, they should take the seat back. I really DISLIKE Gel seats ... not just because they'll burn your balls off but because Gel is the NO talent, cheapo seat makers answer for comfort ... but it's only short term comfort in my experience riding Gel seats. They feel good at first (if cool) but after an hour not so good. Better than stock, of course. Big deal, riding on a 2x4 would be more comfortable than stock seat.

I would send the seat back. Get a Corbin, Fisher or Sargent. Real seats made by established pro's. Be interesting to know who actually makes seats for Moose, who make NOTHING, they are only a middlemen marketing company ... and put their name of thousands of items they don't make. (most come from China, especially clothing lines)

In the meantime drape a white towel or jacket over the seat when parked.

One of the reasons I got this one because it did not say gel anywhere in any description I have read a few people saying how hot they get

I got a Corbin on my GSXR & I love it the only reason why I did not get one for my DR is I still got the stock gas tank & I was not sure what size or brand bigger tank I was going to go with at the time. I'm going to keep the Moose seat because its still a comfortable seat but I might just get the Seat Concepts Foam & Cover Kit for my old stock seat to use in the summer months, also I would like to see how a seat kit over a stock pan feels compared to the Moose seat

I would like to hear about that comparison. I have a spare stock pan and I'm still trying to decide whether to go with the Seat Concept kit, the ProCycle/Saddleman kit or "roll" my own. However, if I find the money, it's a Sargent.
