Here is the bowling alley. No extra beer points in the picture.

For the next challenge anything that is burnt. Anything at all. In this case this was a Pizza Hut that went out of business. A local bought it and turned it into a restaurant that went out of business. Then the a third owner opened up coffee shop that burned in the night. Thankfully no one was injured.

Hi Nogoodnamesleft

Yes that was me and a few of the mates riding down to the MotoGP at the Island.
I remember you and your mate - the DR & DL pairing is memorable.
It was a Monday night at Batemans Bay in the Country Club for dinner. In the club foyer there was a new HD 500 on display as 1st prize in a raffle.
We were staying over the road at Hanging Rock motel.
I also remember seeing you on the road the next day and maybe another day as well.

You meet the nicest people on a DR. (sorry Mr Honda).

This year we are all riding dirt bikes and trying to get a heap dirt under our wheels on the way to the MotoGP at the Island.

Here's a picture of some of the bikes and riders in that years riding group taken that morning at our usual GP ride RV. BP Kurmond.

it was you then.
nice.
my real world and internet world just collided.

we did some dirt on the way back last year,
but neither of us had the greatest of front tyres for the dirt, when it started raining.
my mate on the DL had a tuffer time than me,
this was the stop were we got the map out to find the blacktop again - it got wet and then cold..
we ended up doing about 6,000 k's last year on that trip.

planning a lot of dirt this year too,
weather and time constraints being the deciding factor on how much coming from Brisbane.

my mate will be on his DL again - he's a braver man than me
Might bump into you in the bush this year then..

sorry for the distraction guys
back to regular viewing

It does not have to be a burnt house. Anything burnt. A fire pit or even a cigarette but. Just burnt. Game on.

Challenge accepted.
The pictures are a few weeks old from our annual MotoGP trip to Phillip Island, with this year's ride having a dirt flavour.

There is a DR in the photo background, just not mine, and the requisite burnt thing that is still burning.
It was a cool night camping on the banks of the Murray river at Tom Groggin in the Snowy Mountains.
The fire was re-stoked in the morning for a bit of warmth for our old bones and also that the "Coffee Wench" author could perform ceremonial duties.
Always be nice to your morning barista. They decide whether you have regular or decaf.

Image

The challenge is a photo of a DR with a wet creek or river crossing.
The river is the Kowmung in the Blue Mountains NSW.

not playing the game atm,
just adding a slight diversion like i always seem to do in this thread..

good to see you went via dirt to GP this year.
i had to take the harley this year,
my mate with the 100GS shat it's carbies the weekend before we left and we had to have a change of plans
my mate on the DL still went down on dirt tyres - though only one easy dirt back road on the trip - the harley is not a dirt bike..!!

but i do have a pic of my DR probably taken in exactly the same spot as your DR, from earlier this year on my Solo lap of Aus.
I remember that spot well as I dropped my DR twice on that crossing exit on the other side of your pic.
it was tuffer and steeper than you're pic makes out.
It wasn't flowing as much as your pic and i mistakingly went with "she'll be right, just motor across..."

my DR was loaded like your bike, but also had food, 15 litres of water and 5 litres of fuel strapped on the back
(spent a couple of days exploring in there)
bike up ended itself from carrying too much speed on the bumpy exit and being too tail heavy with wet slippery tyres.
should have walked my water up, but i was being lazy and it bit me in the ass big time.

here's the pic looking back up the hill from you're spot,
(was a steep ride down to the your spot) taken just before I went across.
sorry taken just before I tried to get across and the bike was dumped..!!
I eventually got up there in the end and learnt to be not so lazy on further water crossings when solo..
A loaded DR is a beast to pick up on your own.

Hope you had a safe trip
might bump into you next year.

Let's start here with the rules, we are kind of loosely based on these rules:

here's the rules for supermotojunkie's riding game thing's run pretty smooth
• Take a pic of your bike to satisfy the current specific challenge.
* If it says a pic in front of a sign with "No Motorized Vehicles" one that just says "No Vehicles" will NOT work.
* If it says a pic in a drive thru, a McDonald's will work as well as a bank because the poster didn't specify it.

• Post a SPECIFIC next challenge. Make it something accomplishable NOT something ridiculous. That will slow down the game for everyone. The idea is to ride, take a picture, post it and move on not stage a performance art piece or taunt your local police.

• Remember this is a worldwide game. Make your challenge something the majority of members, regardless of location, can accomplish so we get international participation as well. It's cool that a guy from Scotland can go get a challenge from a guy in Phoenix, AZ and we should promote that type of play.

• There will be disagreements about whether challenges have been met or were specific enough. The original poster has the first right to determine whether his/her challenge has been met. If we cannot come to a logical conclusion by that method the originator of the game is final referee. It's a dirty job but we have to have someone in this position or it will just be endless flaming arguments here. In the unlikely event we cannot get a timely judgement by referee, a vote by three players can be made to wait for "judgement" by referee or "play on".

• In the event a challenge has stalled the game, 36 hours will be the limit of it's duration. After that time limit the person who suggested it can either do it themselves or suggest a new next challenge. If they don't reply in 12 hours then the previous winner gets to pick the new next challenge.

• Archived photos CANNOT be used. After the challenge has been posted you have to go out and get a NEW photo to satisfy it.

It's pretty simple. Anyone participating in this thread automatically agrees to these rules and must abide by them regardless of their personal opinion. Anyone who cannot abide by them may feel free to withdraw from the game.

Follow this link for info on posting g pictures, the forum has limited storage for photos, if you want your pictures to stay online use a hosting service, I use Google, it's free, auto resizes my pictures as I upload them and also watermarks them, here is the link: http://drriders.com/topic79.html
