Wow.

Riding is groups of 2 or more is a serious thing at AOAA; I couldn't ride today.

Considering the youtube vids, I just can't see it.

Also, if you are coming to AOAA, be sure to fill out the smart waiver and check out the check-in list for documents required, etc...

Are you saying you can't ride solo?

Switching gears, I got a spot for the Michaux DS. See you 8/21/16 :yahoo:

Unfortunately, yes :s_mad

Looking at the youtube vids, I can't understand why either.

Apparently there is a huge controversy about the AOAA with the locals and the crack down by PSP at the county and township's behest to force locals to get AOAA and RAC permits. Infact, one township is hoping to force RAC's hand to have them stop issuing permits for coal hill at Treverton.

While RAC has no maps or guidance, AOAA does. However, the permitting process to the uninitiated looks overly complicated for RAC vs AOAA. RAC requires non adults to have riding certifications, AOAA does not. AOAA requires riding in groups of two or more, RAC (far as I can tell) does not.

Local paper mentions the issuance of criminal trespass citations for lack of permits.

Infact, for all the grant money that AOAA has received from the commonwealth's ATV registration and titling programs, they seem to be building buildings, roads and paying people to sit in SxSs observing riders.

Perhaps when Mark, Cella and Steve arrive I will see enough to be convinced otherwise, but on the surface things seem more regulated than the DS trails in Bald Eagle State Forest and Poe Valley State Park, and that was using PUBLIC ROADS :OMG:

For all the claims of wanting to be the 2nd Hatfield and McCoy on the right coast, I just don't see it.

Nice! :good:

Now if I can only get them to mail my information to FI as per my letter on Friday.

I will be at FI (ie Sunbury, PA) and not returning home prior to the MDS.

Perhaps I can bum a copy.

I'll have to PM them and try to ring South Mountain Cycle...

If you don't get it let me know. I can scan and email the route sheet to you along with any other pertinent information.

Yeah that is a part that seems a pain in the butt. Requirement to have a partner. I put that up there in my first post. Which OK, yes is good for safety, but not everyone can do that. It would be nice if they had like a solo riding track or something so you could at least go up and dirt around.

Everything in PA, at least to me, seems ATV centric. I believe that Bald Eagle is the only state maintained dual sport trail location. Someone told me you could ride ATV trails in the national forests though. Private stuff seems scant.

I'm gonna have to buy 5 acres in Perry County and rent a backhoe and make my own park. I can live onsite in a converted cargo van.

Here's the rules:

1. Don't died. If you gotta died, do it on the neighbor's property.
2. Don't break beer bottles near the tracks.
3. No fires bigger than 1 acre.
4. No shooting guns after 12:00 AM, unless there's a Squatch.

Weather forecast has changed my plans to ride AOAA this week and my buddy Steve has decided to go to the beach instead. I am looking into going sometime in the next 2 weeks with my daughter and Steve if he is available. Anyone else interested in trying AOAA before September?
