25 liters equals about 6.6 gallons (US) 26 liters would be closer to 6.9 gallons.

Sweet - I'll get myself on the list!

Any idea if the Sargent World Sport seat will work with this new tank? Thanks.

Yes, the only seat/tank fit issue comes when you are talking only about Corbin seats and IMS tanks.

Hello,

Thanks Procycle for looking into yellow. I can see why you would not sell to many.
Amazing, having in excess of 80 bikes and not caring if they were purple, pink or black, I now
want a black and yellow bike and they won't be making the tank I want in that color.
Oh well, like the 3 bears, must go bigger or smaller as the one that is just right is blue, black, white or clear, just not yellow.

Thanks again for splaining

Heirhead

You can always go with the black one, and do the body panels and fenders in yellow. It will still give you the bumblebee look, :) They make some cool colored chains and you could get one in yellow to complete the look. (yellow handgrips too?)

The black tank would look bad ass too IMHO.

Yes they will, just not in the first production run.

I am just enjoying the show for now. :lurk: I personally am not interested in added weight at this time but if I ever find a need for a huge tank it will be nice to know that there will be another choice. I am running the Clarke and it added a half gallon to my small OEM cali model tank. And maybe down the road if I find myself in need for a mega tank, all the R&D bugs will be worked out if any were to crop up with the new Acerbis tank. :pardon: At least it is not as hideous as the Safari. But let's face it this is function over form at this point......

Hey Jeff, are these tanks going to require an inline fuel filter, or is the petcock that comes with it going to have an internal filter? Just making sure so when I order mine up here in a few days I get everything on one order. Thanks.

Hey guys - darn, really thought this would fill the gap perfectly. just got this email from Jeff at Procycle:

I’m sending this email because you have preordered one of the new Acerbis fuel tanks for your DR650. The Acerbis literature states these tanks would be 6.6 gallons (25 liters) capacity but in reality the actual production tanks are only slightly more than 5 gallons (20 liters) capacity. As you can imagine I am deeply disappointed! ProCycle had a lot riding on this new product. We were all very excited!

I have cancelled our initial stocking order of 60+ tanks and I will be cancelling all the open customer orders and returning those payments. If you paid by credit card it may take a couple of days for the returned payment to appear on your account.

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

Please take a moment to make a quick reply to this message so I can keep track of everyone who has been notified.
