This is an advanced intermediate ride ranging from smooth twisty roads to short stretches of technical singletrack to long runs of rocky two-track. This is a modified version of the original that we may get to run someday if the USFS ever gets it's act together. This route is also dependent on the snow pack, so as much as we need the water we need the snow to melt to gain access to the trails underneath.
The plan is to meet up at my house in Wilseyville, CA on Thursday the 23rd to stay the night then leave Friday the 24th. Ride to the City Center Motel. I can make reservations and we can figure out room sharing and costs once we determine who is going. Probably walk down to the Nugget for dinner and breakfast that has a steakhouse and coffee shop.
Water, snacks, change of clothes and stuff to keep your bike running are all you need. Thunder storms can build on the crest of the Sierras in the afternoon so if wouldn't hurt to have a water resistant jacket of some kind. Light is right for this ride, if you have two side cases and a top case with stuff you are WAY over packed, think daypack and a small tail bag. I can cover the food/beer if anyone stays at my place. Just PM me or post in this thread if you are coming, staying at my place or trying to meet up along the way. I'll forward my address and contact info once confirmed as coming.
The ride looks something like this. I have a Garmin GPX file that can be downloaded if you let me know you want it.
Spot tracker link for friends and family to follow will be posted here just before the ride.http://share.findmespot.com/shared/faces/viewspots.jsp?glId=0JX9gjefq08Wq0vrEQPQjsRjzE3HVxV5e
This top post will track who's going and changes/updates as needed so check back often.
