A recent thread got me thinking about how good the exhaust sounds on some motorcycles. I've been a gear head all my life and there isn't much that will put a smile on my face faster than a good sounding motorcycle (or supercharged V8, turbo diesel, big block V8, etc..). So what motorcycle do you think sounds the best? If available, please link a video with your selection.

EDIT: Just an FYI...if you want to embed a video in your post, copy the url and then paste it between the video formatting buttons (the shortcut is directly below the italics button in your post header. Or you can just type .

Here's one of my favorites...Honda CBX, Inline (Parallel) 6 cylinder, 1000cc

The deep drone of a Ducati with Termignonis comes a long way. As does a SoS racer.

( I hate the sound of typical four-in-line supersports, vacuum cleaners)

Ariel Square Four
BSA 650 Single
Laverda Jota Triple
Benelli Sei

All the bikes above I rode save the Ariel, which I only saw run in person. The others I got to ride.
I hated that Laverda, the clutch pull would cripple you, but the song of the triple was nice.

Kick starting the BSA would break your leg if you screwed up. I was only 15 when I rode the BSA.

The Benelli was cool but had so many problems ... I would never own one. Local dealer had a brand new left over on his showroom floor for nearly 7 years. Could have bought it in 1985 for $2300. No thanks.
(probably worth a fortune now)

Taking Grifter's theme of "nice sounding, but hard to ride" a step further, i present the MV Agusta Brutale 800 Dragster RR.

The 3 cylinder has a delicious growl, but the need to throw your body into the corners to get the massive rear tire to lean over is just too much. Coupled with the "love it or hate it" body styling, it makes me want to cram the engine into something more palatable.

I'm obviously biased, but I love the sound of a Buell XB12 engine (modified Harley engine)...though I realize it won't be everyone's cup of tea...

Wow, it's much lighter than I thought. At least it doesn't sound like a sewing machine

There is just something about a nice V-Twin sport bikes with a good exhaust.

Some days I miss the old Can-Am Spyder RS SM5, with the Hindle Exhaust.

Not my old Spyder, but close, lol.
