Not sure what is going on with topic notifications... are these topics something you are subscribed too or just random stuff emailed to you?

I can say they have been making some changes to the phpBB system in the last few days as I have some other "things aren't working" emails to look at in my inbox.

They have added: Secure SSL/HTTPS now available for all forums! and Premium Forums Can Now Send Mass PMs. But nothings having to do with Topic Notifications.... guessing maybe during system changes/uploading some things got goofed?? Let me know if it continues. There is nothing different in our settings for the forum.

I was subscribed to the topic that sent a couple hundred notifications all marked with the same time. It must just be a hiccup related to the work being done on the site. I like the new capability to have more than one recipient to a private message. :2_thumbsup:

Just a shot in the dark based on my limited SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) experience, but if you receive a notification of a new reply on a thread, and the system the monitor is embedded in is restarted before you read that post, you may receive another notification. So, with changes made in a live production environment, you are apt to receive notifications for the same post for each restart until you read that post, and its status is changed from "unread" to "read" within the subscription attached to your profile.

Taking this a step further, I am going to guess that you will receive a notification for each unread post after each restart.

Personally, I have turned off all but three of my subscriptions as I prefer to use the functionality of the forum to monitor new posts to threads I follow or am active on.

Rob, I was originally subscribed to the thread that bombed me, but the barrage continued after multiple attempts to unsubscribe directly on that thread as well as through the notification link. It does appear to have stopped now, and thank you for looking into the matter.

Yeah, that's something I've mentioned on the phpBB admin website in the past..... good they got that one going.
