Agree with mda185, RA seems more like RC (Rausch Creek).

I'm leaning toward AOAA myself, but I am open to anything.

I have a big block of time coming in August where I usually camp and ride for 7 days before the family joins me.

I've spent time at both MRA and ANF in the past.

I think either would be suitable.

I have no idea what's going on location wise at this time.

As soon as I have more detail I'll post here and if we get a group, perhaps we can get a new thread going...

If you are not familiar with Reading Anthracite "Tower City" it is not a place to go without someone who know the area. There are many trails going many miles in different directions and no maps. Some of the trails (1 mile straight easily 5th gear WOT) blindly dead head with steep drop-offs and lots of other interesting less than safe obstacles. You must also get a permit from Reading Anthracite to ride there. However the locals do not seem to abide by this.

I've always associated "tower city" with Rausch Creek, not Reading Anthracite.

Either way, the process seems overly complex (or costly) for what it is...

AOAA seems like a pretty organized facility. As far as these things go. I'd be more inclined to check that out.

Here some satellite trail imagery and what not:

It was great to meet and ride with you all!

My laptop isn't co-operating with my video files. So I can't trim them down. I will be looking into another machine. I have been flirting with running a go pro as well.

I am game to ride anywhere. Advice given at the trail has been followed. The DRZ is getting dropped of Tuesday for suspension modifications.

Riding back to camp was a thrill. My cam caught the lack of light my bike puts out so that will be addressed.

My ride back home was 13 hours with 11 of them moving. It was scenic to say the least. There was a point where I couldn't feel my feet. The pain was fine but the lack of feeling was a problem. That will be addressed as well.

Can't wait for the next ride!

Love that you rode out on the back roads instead of the slab. Great pics. I have a DRZ but have never attempted a ride of that length on mine.

Stopped at "the rock" on PA 144 I see.

No stop at Hyner View?

Great views and good access to PA 44 as an alternate route to Jersey Shore.

Should have been along your path after North Bend but before you cross the West Branch of the Susquehanna River enroute to Lock Haven...

Hello folks, I heard drriders mentioned a few times at your get together so I figured I would join in.. :good:
I am glad I made the drive out there, rode Friday saw two bears at two different times and Saturday morning almost ran over a couple pheasants. It was nice to meet a few folks from that area. I had a quite a few laughs Saturday night. If you guys are ever in the area let me know, I can take you for a good tour, plenty of trails around here.
