I decided to make my own tank pads, not so much because of the cost but I wanted them a certain shape.

I made a set years ago for my DL650 and they held up quite well.

The rubber sheet comes from Lee Valley tools of all places, in 12" x 36" roll..so there's a enough material to make several sets and the balance I'll use for other things that might require so type of rubber protection ..part number is 88K5905 , the cost of the roll was $12:50 Canadain or $3.00 us $ ..couldn't resist..

Just trace out the shape on cardboard and cut them out..peel and stick.

Cheers

Gobear

Good idea, and there is a store here in town. :good:

The stuff might come in handy as well, to stick onto the top of an aluminium skid plate, to kill the reflected noise, hmmmm.

I did something similar once but the pad's adhesive melted after about two months in my plastic tank.
