Michael- Can you let us know what size/dimensions lock you used, please? It will make it a little easier on me to order this stuff now, because I to won't need to get the box to measure the lock. If it isn't handy, no worries. It will all happen eventually; time and gravity, we used to say... ;)

I got an email from Michael today. looks like he has made a mitt full of the boxes. I hope your all happy with them and can't wait to see one out there someday. put some pic's up you guys! I knew he would be the best source for making these up, I'm still real busy with my own stuff.
I will see Michael soon as he makes his so. cal. run for the formula car factory. I'm going to go over my next new idea with him for the DR it will involve pontoons and a three blade propeller. the snow blower attachment didn't work out so good

Once I get the new flasher relay and complete the turn signal install and reassemble the bike I will take some photos and post them up. I had some minor fitment issues with my box. Namely the inner fender being in the way. I ended up removing the outer lip of the plastic inner fender and still need to put 1/4" spacers in the forward mounting holes to cram the box in. It fits snugly with some pressure being applied to the inner fender but if I increase the spacer size then the side panel will have issues. I didn't go back to see if this has been discussed already so others may have already ran across this issue. This is how I solved the issue on my bike.

Hey, new DR rider here. Has anyone got any nice pics of the toolbox mounted? Anyone ever think of mounting one under the exhaust pipe in front of the skidplate? I had a tooltube there on my KLR worked good and kept the weight low. Someone makes a toolbox that connects to the skid plate for the BMW GS650. Thanks Joe
