Is it still a banned food stuff in USA because of its added folate?

Manny Aussie Vegemite addicts were risking border controls to get their fix.

Vegemite is always nicest with the toasted crust - the slice(s) at the end(s) of the loaf, extra thick preferred.

Not only, but also ....
We bake a lot of our own bread. One of my favourites (which riles she who must be obeyed) is to wait until a new loaf has cooled just enough to handled, slice off the crusts, (have done it with all 6 crusts a couple of times), melt lashings of real butter and vegemite into it and have a feast fit for the gods.
I'm drooling all over my keyboard just thinking about it as I type.
Really good to see that Bega have bought Vegemite, but I wasn't aware that it ever was "Oz owned" in the past.

Vegemite was developed in 1909 by an employee of Fred Walker and Co. an Australian company. In 1925 Fred Walker and Co. formed The Kraft Walker Cheese Company joint venture with J.L.Kraft and Bros. an American Company formed by a Canadian immigrant.
Kraft Walker Cheese Company remained Australian at least until 1935 when Fred Walker died and it was all combined into Kraft Walker Cheese Company Limited and the American Kraft Company acquired a controlling interest.
So vegemite is an Aussie invention originally owned by Aussies, then fell into American Hands, and is now back where it belongs.
Production and sales always were in Australia, since only us Aussies actually like it.
