Great idea & cheapYeah, you can make it yourself, but for $9 shipped....why? I've seen other's but I like this one. No connection, just passin' it on.

Keep on finding stuff that inspires me to go on a LOOONG motorcycle trip! That is super cool and simple, I think I'll have to get one.

I've got two of his stoves...they work great and they fit inside my camping cook set. The stoves work great for boiling water or just heating up a can of your favorite soup/spaghetti-os . I picked up a 30oz MSR bottle from REI to store/transport the Heet in for camping trips. Wolfman also sells a holster for the bottles so you can attach it to your bags. MSR Bottle: http://www.rei.com/product/783963/msr-f ... p-30-fl-ozBottle Holster: http://www.wolfmanluggage.com/Accessori ... lster.html

I got 4 of 'em. Gave one to a ridin' buddy and will be testing soon prior to actually camping. I have the fuel bottle but hadn't seen the holster. Thx for the link RM4x4.
Man, this site costs me money at least once a week! I could say no.....but why?

Hey, what a pleasant surprise. I happen to be the guy who spends his evenings making these things. I just joined this forum, and was planning on getting more familiar with how it runs before mentioning these, but here a thread already exists. I can answer any questions about these if anyone's curious. Will post up a full description and details once I learn the appropriate spot here in the DR Rider forum.

I use one like on http://jwbasecamp.com/Articles/SuperCat ... r_Cat7.htm since we have a couple cats. Except I left the top on the can and cut a half dollar size hole in the bottom, super simple. Works pretty good, boils two cups of water in under 4 minutes. With either style you'll want to make a windscreen out of thin alum, size it right and the stove, screen, and fuel fit in your pot. Downside is that you can't simmer and the flame is hard to see in sunlite so be careful. The pepsi/guinness styles, like pictured, I tried where more complex than my crafty side could handle, for those its worth the $9.

For those interested in a combination set, SR also sells a simmer stove with half the number of holes...burns longer with less heat being applied to the pan.

Yep, made a few in my day. Great for warming things up, boiling water etc. Not very good for the true chef of the woods though. I finally broke down and bought a real stove, the MSR Dragonfly! This baby is made for the inner chef in all of us.
It actually simmers, can be turned down so low it can act as a candle. I paid like $89.00 and worth every penny. Its a multifuel stove to boot!
Check out zenstoves.net for more pop can stove designs!
