It takes only a few minutes to switch between commuter mode (Givi monokey plate attached to the PWD rack for my E370 topcase) or distance-tourer (L-bracket to mount my Kolpin fuel cell vertically behind a large rear duffel).

Nice setup. Is that vertical L-bracket bolted to the PWD rack? And secondly, is it a standard part or owner-created? Thanks.

+1 pwd, made it real easy to attach a seahorse case with carriage bolts and wing nuts for trips, and a little knapsack when local. Very solid.

Yes, its bolted to the rack. I used some button-top allen screws on top and a washers & nylock nuts underneath. Partially owner-created, partially salvaged - I just went to a local metal shop and asked for a chunk of scrap alum from their waste bin. They let me dig around and I found a piece that was large enough and they even put the bend into it for me on the spot. $10 well spent. All I did when I got it home was drill the holes for mounting to the PWD rack and attaching the Kolpin mount, then filed the edges smooth.

While installing a x40FOx muffler with a PWD rack in place this what I ran into:

I would like to take this oppurtunity to give you guys a bit of info I discovered while installing the Kientech custom hanger bracket. To start I currently have a PWD rear rack in place with the OEM grab handles. The FMF did not conflict with this setup however the Kientech x40FOx hanger did. The conflict was small in my book and required trimming a small amount of aluminum off of the PWD rack, specifically where the right front tit extends for attaching a tailbag strap. See the picture below for a better understanding. When I mounted the PWD rack last week I installed the supplied spacer between the frame boss and the rack per instructions. The Kientech hanger actually replaces this spacer nicely but does not play well with the front right strap tit. Overall it mounts up fine and shouldn't cause any major problems with mounting a tailbag. The PWD rear rack has multiple slots and holes for a variety of bags and cases and the bungee tit is not all that usefull IMHO. If you make your own mid pipe and move the muffler bracket back like MXRob did this problem would not exist. I don't have access to a tig welder so I went the Kientech route. Hope this helps.

Just found these on sale at a real great price. Thought I would pass it along since I already have one.

I just ordered one, at that price I couldn't pass it up. Just have to figure out how to hide it from my girlfriend.

Just another thumbs-up on the PWD rack. I picked up one and installed it in combination with Wolfman Expedition racks & bags. No conflict between the two at all.

Im wondering where the rear strap for the wolfmans ends up, looks like it would be on the front of the rack. Do you happen to have any pics without the bags?

Sorry I didn't catch this question earlier, foxfire. Yes, the rearward strap for the Wolfman Expedition bags does lay across the front edge of the PWD rack. I've put two 2500 mile road trips on the bike with it like this and there's been no wear on the straps at all. Works just fine :)

A here's a few pics without the bags on:

I also have the PWD rack, ordered the Givi mounting tabs too.
Looks and works fine. Took me 10 minutes to mount.
Later I bought a Givi E35 top-box, fits as expected.
