Best scene for me is the three Huskies on the beach ending.

Agh! That was two Huskys and the magnificent 360 Greeves Challenger! Probably a 1968 model. Mert had a Harley sticker on the gas tank. Right side shift 4 speed, up-for-low pattern, cast front down tube frame, square section swing arm, fiberglass tank held on by bungie cords, Amal carb, huge cylinder and head fins, twin exhaust ports leading into one expansion chamber - yes, loud.
The 250 Challenger (same frame) was my first real dirt bike ride, then later I had a 360 with Earles leading link forks (think old BMW). Greeves were the first ring-dings to regularly put the 650 desert sleds on the trailer. Malcom Smith rode Greeves before he was drawn over to the dark (red) side.

And yes, I've seen the movie, ah... once or twice.

There are 3 versions of it??
What are the differences? I just watched it again recently. Still love it.

I think what he means is there are now OAS, OAS II, and OAS III. The second two were partly made of unused footage combined with newer stuff. The second two are certainly watchable good entertainment, but they are not the spectacular film the original is.

It was just forty years ago when I sat on my DT1 while watching OAS through a chain link fence at the local drive-in. Seeing MS smoke everyone at the Elsinore GP will forever be ingrained in my memory bank. :notworthy:

Oat old but that I'd the film that got me hooked and crooked with off road bikes on road bikes... More or less anything with two wheels.

Killer film and more over one that I wish more peole would listen to the deeper meaning sent from the film.

I haven't seen that flick in donkey's years. They used to include it in marathon nights at out local drive-in. Lots of kids had trail bikes around the area, so it was a real favourite.

I'll have to watch it and see if its as good as I remember.

If you're already on Netflix to watch it, you MUST watch Cycle South. Another 70's cycle documentary about 3 guys that ride down to South America. Awesome :good:
