I have a soft spot for dual sports and adventure bikes. But sometimes I just don't get it why we don't get some of these bikes in the states. :shout:
This one is ready to go from the factory for a pretty good price.
Bash plate, engine guards and panniers.

Makes you wonder.
There are plenty of bike sold over seas that I would like to try out, like a Honda Africa Twin or Transalp

That looks like an accessorized Wee that the distributor put together. Or perhaps it is a way to clear inventory before the new one arrives. Easy enough to recreate...

EDIT: I just looked at this video preview of the 2012 Wee (French). The same bags and tail trunk are offered and looking closely, you can see the Suzuki logo is embossed in the black plastic.

SAVE THE CUSH DRIVE: PayPal me just $10 a day, and I promise not to throw away or abuse my cush drive. In fact if 10 of you PayPal me $10 a day, I will reinstall my poor cush drive along with the bar end weights, passenger pegs, and Civic sized muffler.

Yea, the UK and Euro Vstroms began with these accessories a couple years ago. The new 2012 Wee Strom will have all the stuff ... and a better engine (from the Gladius) and a different look.

But there are plenty of other interesting bikes we DO NOT get ... that we should. The main missing link is the Yamaha XTZ660 Tenere'. The 660 Ten has been out in the EU for a couple years. It looks fantastic. Sadly, ride reports say its too heavy ... pushing 500 lbs. .... and if it came to the USA would have to cost around $10,000 USD. American Yamaha probably made this calculation and decided not to bring in the 660 Tenere' . It's a beauty though ... and for mostly road touring would be a very interesting alternative to the DR650.
Here is Jennie Mo riding her XTZ660 in Africa. She rode the Dakar (WR450) but crashed out. She toured the US and Africa on the bike below ... now sold.

Besides dual sport bikes there are tons cool road motorcycles in Europe. Yamaha XJR, MT-01, MT-03, TDM
