Fine tuning the KTMuki (KTM 640 needle in a stock carb). Ran the bike up the closest grade and snapped a shot at the top, at a scenic overlook.

Cool, I think our highest spot around here is about 100 foot above sea level, jealous!

The valley floor behind Zoidberg is about 2300ft-2400ft. Pic was taken right around 3900ft. The climb is highway and is maybe 8 miles from low to high.

So here is a quick before and after.

I pulled my skid plate to spray the top with undercoating to lessen the engine noise, and replace those ugly hex head bolts I put in after I stripped the torques style ones. While I was in that area I utilized an idea found in the forum to wire wheel the rust and paint from the stack header and polish the factory stainless. I want to see how the factory header holds the polishing. Should be fine.

So apparently my local terrain is the garage? :dunno: I stopped by my local cycle salvage today and scored a pair of Moose aluminum guards and hardware for $5. Left there and drove up to Happy Trail for the covers, $25. $30 total, and burned up a rain day. Not a bad day.

Got out today with the family. This was my son's first ride on public land, everything else has been on my dad's farm. Trailer-ed out and had mom follow us. The ride was short but good. :good:

Training wheels kept sucking him into ruts but all was well, but then, THE FLAT.

There are wild horses in Idaho. Here is one herd.

It's alway a great day when you can head out into the hills, but what if you already live on a hill???

Sitting at my computer here in Calgary my handheld GPS reads 1170 m (3838.5 ft). If I drive a little West towards the mountains, you hit 1410 m (4626 ft) and they call this a hill.

Even in mid summer the upper elevations in the mountains can get a dusting of snow over night.
