I couldn't decide which problem area bothered me most until I caught my wife during a moment of financial weakness and SHE suggested the tank. Being the most expensive mod I had left, I didn't let her think twice. :spiteful:

Sounds all to familiar. I've made recent progress in procuring the fundage on several upgrades/mods myself.
Wifey poo isn't as enthusiastic about a gas tank and seat as i am....

Is that the gray acrebis? Would you mind getting a couple more shots of that tank in better light? I've been eyeballing that thing for weeks now... I think your photo is going to be my convincing...

I told her I'll take diaper duty and midnight meds/feeds for two months on the weekends when I'm not working If'n she'll permit my purchases.... It worked. Anything that will give her a rest from baby duty. I hate using my kid as leverage but, a few diapers and bottles just got me permission to buy a tank and seat :) along with some other goodies..

I'll be ordering a huge short list of items in the coming days... :spiteful:

I actually bought the black tank for my grey bike. I already did the black KTM supermoto front fender and black hand guards. It also helped that MOTOSPORT is selling the black tank for $209.99 with free 3 day shipping. I ordered mine Monday around 3:00 mountain time and had it in my garage Wednesday by 1:00. Only got one more shot today.

Using the babies for leverage is part of the deal! It must be done! :s_devil

I like that black Acerbis tank! :good:

I have the gray 2012 DR and I bought a gray Acerbis. Seeing your bike... I could've saved a $100.00 by getting that black one...

Yesterday I met up with my riding club for what was to be a quick run to a ghost town, southwest of Boise. I don't know the total miles on BLM roads and 2-track dirt, but it seemed to be probably 1/3 of the trip. Since I live west of Boise, my total miles was more than theirs, but I strapped 300 miles onto the pig (well, 297). Hopefully my whining and crying will seal the fate of that stock seat.

We rode through a military training area, out to the remnants of Wickahoney, Idaho. The town was a stagecoach stop and was large enough to have a postmaster. We ate lunch at Wickhoney, and while we were there, the U.S. Air Force noticed and did a low fly-by in the DR-650 of the sky, the A-10 Warthog. :diablo: That was really great. The pic of the a-10 does not do any justice! There were several pairs that went by. On our way back, we stopped by a hidden cave. The group had 1 KLR-650, 3 DRZ-400s, 1 KTM 690, 1 BMW 1200, 1 Tiger 800, and 1 DR-650. We had the Triumph 800 go down twice, but all riders are ok. It was a great time.

About 2 miles from my house, I had to pull over and take a shot of my odometer as I rolled 9,000 miles onto my apparently not-so-new bike. :2_thumbsup:

This is why we ride the DR-650.

Uh oh, looks like you got within 1000' of Higby Cave and destroyed the natural habitat. :OMG:

:spiteful: Yea, but it's typical government signage: it's all in the fine print. Or, you can just go to the BLM website and see that it's closed from sun down to sun up. They sure make it seem like they don't want you on public land, even in tennis shoes.

By the way, here's a video of the A-10 flyby, if anyone's interested.

This is all part of a ride to Yellow Pine, Idaho. We traveled from Boise using almost all dirt the entire trip. There may have been 20 miles of paved road on the way up. I did not go all the way to Yellow Pine, but left the party 26 miles early to drop into Cascade and camp with my family. I then slabbed the pig home on highway 55.

Hills outside of Boise.

Great pics. Coming from Western NY to Idaho in 91 because of the Military was a culture shock.
After leaving for Tucson AZ all I wanted to do was go back. Being 45 min from Boise and 10 miles from a town, there
was more to do than being right next to Tucson. Spent some time hunting north of Boise and east of Mt Home.
Had a blast at Strike Damn most weekends and Boise is the cleanest city I have ever been to.
Still wish I was there with a DR to really explore more of the mountains north of Boise. Jealous!
