Really cool riding with you family. I bet your son loves it!

Ya, it's really neat. I grew up riding and assumed my kids would as well, but you never know. Hopefully they can look back on some good memories. I take my oldest to school typically twice a week on Zoidberg. It's just down the road but he loves it. Even when it was 20 degrees he would ask.

A buddy of mine was talking about buying a new bike after he sold his old dr350 last year. I naturally assumed he would buy a DR650 since I had just bought mine. WRONG AGAIN! He showed up about two months ago with an older Triumph Daytona. So there went my hopes of a dual sport riding pal.

Yesterday he called me to ask what I thought about the BMW gs650. I told him I liked them well enough but couldn't justify the price. Well apparently, that's all he needed, because the Daytona turned into a new 2014 gs650. :yahoo: Not a DR, but at least it's on my list of usable!

Anyways, he had the bike about 4 hours before he stopped by my house and asked to hit a little dirt. Bike had less than 100 miles on it. :good: We did just a quick run out through the hop fields and back to the highway. Still, that's pretty cool.

Been playing with BST MAGIC for a week now. Happy with it. I have joined a small adventure riding club and one individual likes to set up after work rides. Last week five of us rode to a shooting range and did some plinking til dark. Last night we rode to a local ski resort then came back down into Boise on a washed out forest service/BLM road. All and all, I have had fun with the group. One of the members that has been on both Wednesday rides is 80 years old! :OMG: I hope I can hold it down like him when I'm 40!! :2_thumbsup:

Another quick ride with the group. This is Succor Creek Oregon to Lake Owyhee. Two Super 10's, two DR650's, one KTM 950 adventure, one KTM 690 enduro, one KLR650, and one Kawi Versys. It was a great day! There were three dirt naps taken that I know of, but no injuries.

I wish I would have had a DR when I was stationed at Mt Home ID. Lots of good riding all over the state.
Couldn't do nothing but paved roads with the V45 Magna. The 350x sure was fun though, but needed trucked off base.

Thanks.

My oldest (6 yrs) loves to ride on back and seldom rides his own. The youngest, (3 yrs) is the opposite. Throttle lock the JR50 down, and he will put around as long as he can. I did the 1st gear mod on the JR50 which really slows it down! I forget where I heard of the blocked 1st gear, but it does exist.

Here is a bad pic of our last "hunting" trip this past season. Our first hunt off the DR. Trailer-ed it up to the hills and rode in on a bike only trail. Despite not harvesting any jerky, this was the best hunt I've had since I was in high school.

My riding club is cool so far. I have a hell of a time getting to any meetings though, so I miss any "discussions". I feel too stupid around a bunch of guys I don't know at a pizza joint. On the rides, you get to be with others for safety, make chit chat at break points, and get the therapy of thoughts inside your helmet.

The DR would be great in Mnt Home! Head east to the mountains, or west to the desert.

Wrapping up my final mods and was down to (A) front fork springs (B) seat (C) tank.

I couldn't decide which problem area bothered me most until I caught my wife during a moment of financial weakness and SHE suggested the tank. Being the most expensive mod I had left, I didn't let her think twice. :spiteful: Here is Zoidberg today.
